There are dozens of different surgical techniques and procedures that are used to improve and enhance the appearance of the chest and breast area. In the last decade alone, a number of technical advances have been made that allow patients undergoing procedures such as breast enlargement and breast reduction to achieve optimal results, while reducing the risks of issues such as scarring and post-operative complications. In some cases, it is now possible to complete breast reduction by liposuction alone. This involves the removal of excess fatty tissue via a tubular wand-like device. However, this method is only applicable in a number of instances. Specifically, doctors usually only find breast reduction by liposuction to be possible if a relatively small amount of fatty tissue is all that needs to be removed. If glandular material and excess skin must also be excised in the process, a more complex surgical technique will likely be necessary.
