Dentist Ruins Breast Reduction Surgery

Many people do not realize that some dentists are actually qualified to do certain surgical procedures and they may not have anything to do with the mouth.  One Seattle woman was surprised to find out that her dentist could perform a breast reduction procedure, but she was even more surprised when she saw the results.

The fifteen-year-old woman and her family are now suing the dentist for medical malpractice, because her nipples were placed awkwardly after the reconstruction.  Also, the stitches were left in for far too long, so the girl is left with permanent scarring.

You may wonder how this could possibly happen, and who would allow a dentist perform a breast reduction surgery.  Shouldn’t he be cleaning teeth?  The simple fact is that many doctors and dentists are lying about what exactly they are qualified to do.  He may have been a licensed surgeon, but that did not mean that he knew the first thing about breast reduction.

The dentist should have been more honest about his qualifications, but the family should have also done more extensive research before they allowed the operation to take place.  To avoid this situation, always check with a certified plastic surgeon before undergoing any operation.
